My story

PUPPY LIKE! MATCHSTICK - 1-5 years old, 35 pounds, bouncy, wiggly, jumpy, excitable. Matchstick is a friendly and active young girl who arrived at VBACAC as a stray. She is happy, bouncy and jumps all over you in her excitement.  She doesn't really sit for a treat but when she does she stares as the treat hits her in the face and only then goes after it. Silly girl! I noticed Matchstick has a great nose. She should, as a hound, but she seemed extra capable of finding treats in the long grass where others have had a more difficult time. Maybe some sniffing games/jobs will keep this girl on her toes and provide you with special bonding time. Matchstick is very very thin and could use a few extra calories. We don't yet know how she feels about other dogs so bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet. Matchstick has been found to be heartworm positive. Treatment will be covered by the shelter. It is def manageable so please don't let this deter you from meeting her.
