My story

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” If you liked those pearls of wisdom, may I offer a third – a stunning little white chihuahua aptly named Pearl of Wisdom, Pearl for short. Miss Pearl has a sagacious air, as if she is full of all of the wisdom and life experience you’d expect in a 12 year-old chihuahua blessed with infinite comprehension. This little sweetie is a bit vision impaired, but it doesn’t stop her at all! Pearl adapted to Muttville, which is a completely new environment, and now she’s maneuvering like a pro (but we’d expect nothing less of our wise little gal!). She’s been friendly with the other mutts, and she is most happy dispensing her pearl from the comfort of your lap. Please stop by and visit Pearl today, you never know what nugget of knowledge she might have for you! Here's some notes from her foster: Pearl of Wisdom was great in the car. Took her a while to get use to her surroundings but then she settled down, curled up and took a quick snooze. Once home she got busy exploring. The first thing she checked out was the food bowl. But alas it was empty. After making sure the food bowl she explored the rest of the house. She is vision impaired so she walked into a few things. After exploring I took her outside for a quick walk but she was a little timid as it was all very new. We stayed close to the condo but she got some sniffs in. Afterwards we went back inside and I put her on my lap where she quickly got comfortable, curled up and took a snooze. She even started snoring. I did have to wake her up so she could have her dinner which she chowed down. After I showed her to the bed and she curled up and the blankies and went to sleep. I brought her and the bed upstairs for the night but she slept at the foot of the bed. She slept through the night and no problems at all. In the morning we went for walkies where she was still very timid but slowly started exploring a little more. I am monitoring her on my pet camera and she is exploring the area. This girl loves food! One of our favorite things to do together is something I call "tummy time" where Pearl of Wisdom lays on my stomach and we just chill together either watching tv or having staring contests. Eventually one of us falls asleep (usually Pearl). Pearl is a good girl and sleeps through the night. She is pretty good at doing her business first thing in the morning and during the day she mostly hits the pee pads. We do tend to go for walks 2-3 times a day and she has mapped out the area pretty well. She knows where the steps are and can go down them. She has been able to go down the steps to the grassy area at my condo. We are still working on going up them but I know she can go up a few steps since she can go up the doggy stairs to get on the couch. She has also been pretty quiet but has does bark every once in a while but overall relatively pretty mellow

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pearl of Wisdom 12972, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
