My story

Ojos is one of those dogs who stays with you - not just because of how he looks, but because of who he is. At around 10 years old, this special boy was found wandering the streets completely blind. He was in bad shape, clearly neglected for a long time, but still full of heart. His eyes were so painful and damaged that they both had to be removed. He also had a dental where he lost ten teeth — and let’s just say, he’s feeling *much* better now. He’s also got a fatty tumor on his chest (harmless and not bothering him), and a sporadic little cough that he’ll likely have for life. None of it slows him down. Ojos is just happy to be safe, loved, and pain-free.And speaking of love, this boy is made of it! Ojos is gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s curled up in a soft bed or snuggled into a pile of dogs. He does great with other mellow pups and doesn’t mind being used as a pillow. Blind or not, he gets around just fine once he’s learned his space. A cozy bed, a sunny patch of grass, and a few kind words are all it takes to make his day.He enjoys slow walks, stroller rides, and lounging in the sun. He doesn’t ask for much, but he gives so much in return. He’d do best in a quiet home with someone who’s around often, ideally someone with experience caring for seniors. A calm dog friend would be a bonus, but not a must.Ojos may be differently abled, but he doesn’t see himself that way, and honestly, we don’t either. He’s just a sweet, soulful dog looking for someone to love him as he is. If you’ve got a soft spot for seniors and a quiet place for him to land, Ojos would love to meet you! Please inquire today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ojos *special needs*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
