My story

Meet Parish! This 8-month-old, 60lb Shepherd mix is the total package: sweet, smart, and oh-so-snuggly! Parish is still a puppy at heart (and in age!), which means she’s full of curiosity, affection, and playful energy. Parish loves people and always wants to be close—whether she’s riding in the car, playing in the yard, or snuggling on the couch. She’s very treat-motivated and eager to please, making her a fast learner. In just a short time, she’s already learned not to counter surf! She’s doing her best with house training and will go to the door when she needs to potty, but she’s still mastering the “hold it” part—so she’ll need a patient and attentive family to help her finish this training. She also does great in her crate when left alone, especially with a tough Nylabone to keep her busy. She may whine a bit at first but settles down quickly. Parish LOVES to chew and play, so durable toys are a must—soft plushies don’t stand a chance! It’s unclear if she was ever an indoor dog before coming into rescue, but she’s learning quickly and adapting beautifully to home life. She’s still growing and maturing, so a home that understands puppy energy and is ready to continue her training will be ideal.
