Meet Jager, a spirited 5-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix weighing in at 70 pounds. Jager is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered — ready for his forever home with the right adopter. Jager's Personality and Traits Jager is an active and lively dog who thrives on adventure and play. He does well on a leash and has decent recall, making him a good companion for outdoor activities. However, he can be dog selective, so interactions with other dogs should be monitored closely. Though he plays with other dogs at our rescue, caution is advised, especially around food and treats. Crate Training and Anxiety Jager does not crate well and experiences anxiety when confined. We have found that staying with him during crate time helps alleviate some of his stress. His new home will need to have patience and understanding to continue working with him on this issue. The Ideal Home for Jager Jager is not suited for a first-time dog owner. We are seeking an experienced adopter who is familiar with Malamute traits and behaviors. Due to his specific needs, we are offering Jager at an extremely reduced adoption rate. This is a unique opportunity for someone willing to invest time and effort into helping Jager thrive. A Loving Companion Despite his challenges, Jager is a fun and affectionate dog. He has never experienced the love and care he deserves until coming to our rescue, and he rewards affection with joyful antics and happy tails.
