This beautiful girl — a spirited mix of Belgian Malinois and Great Pyrenees — is destined to grow big, bold, and outdoorsy.With creativity bubbling inside her, Painter is looking for a family excited to dive into the fun challenge of housetraining, leash manners, and all the basics that will help her become the best-behaved pup around. Lucky for you, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation offers a generous training voucher to get you both started with a certified local trainer — talk about a masterpiece in the making! Come meet this gorgeous, slightly mischievous artist of a pup and start your puppy-raising adventure today. If you’re a hard worker searching for a true working-breed companion, Painter’s ready to craft a lifelong bond with you!Painter`s adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind Fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter.The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
