Hi, I’m Phoebe! Here is some info you need to know about me: Breed: Shih Tzu Age: 2 Years Gender: female Height: 25 cm Weight: 5 kg highlights: loyal, independent, playful, quiet, Food motivated My story started in a scary way—I was found with my sister, curled up in a basket outside a vet’s office somewhere in the Middle East. Someone had covered us with saran wrap, and we didn’t know what was happening. We were cold, confused, and so scared. But then… kind humans found us. They brought us somewhere safe, gave us warmth, food, and soft places to sleep. We were rescued, and everything changed. https://youtube.com/shorts/kWQeb_7NbOM?si=9ob_xmZW611-sLIySince then, life has gotten so much better. My sister Daphne and I are super close—we’ve been through a lot together, and we bring each other comfort. But I’ve also learned how to be brave on my own. I’d love to be adopted with her if someone has room in their heart for both of us, but I’d also do just fine in a home of my own, as long as there’s love. I love people! Big ones, little ones—doesn’t matter. I just want to be close, to play, to cuddle, and to explore with you. I get along great with other dogs, and I’ve never met a squeaky toy I didn’t like. I’m curious about the world, but also calm and gentle. I don’t bark much, and I’m okay being left alone for a while—I don’t get anxious or lonely. I just take a nap and wait for you to come home. Oh, and before I forget, I love food! I am very food motivated! If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, snuggly best friend with a brave heart and a gentle soul… maybe I’m your girl. Energy level: moderate Gets along with: Other dogs: yes Children: yes Cats: yes Prey drive: none observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me, should these behaviors survive Fears: none observed, however, I will need patience to get used to my new environment Training: some Leash Trained: I walk very well on leashHouse Trained: I have been trained to use the outside after I eat, but I will need a refresher course because I will be coming from the shelter. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated, and micro chipped. My adoption fee is $800 plus tax Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2409433##
