My story

Hiya friends! My name is ELVIS and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Terrier mix Age: Approximately 1 year old Gender: Male Weight: 10 lbs (4.4 kg)  Height: 36 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 53 cm (head to butt) Neck: 24 cm Chest: 39 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - My rescue story is all too common, I was found wandering and all alone near a prison facility in Mexico City. I was following strangers on the street, hopeful to be noticed and that someone would take me home. Luckily for me, my plan worked! I was rescued by a kind woman who brought me to the shelter. Not much is known about my early life, but my rescuer says, despite my circumstances, I have a spark that shines bright! TEMPERAMENT & ENERGY LEVEL (Medium) - I’m described as cheerful and full of life! I can be quite charming, and am known for being quite the ham! I am happy playing with my fellow doggos, taking a walk, or snuggled up with my favorite humans. I just looove snuggles, as seen in this video. I’m beyond ready to find my forever family, who’s ready to give me all the love that I deserve?!  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. I don’t have any known experience around kiddos just yet. Dogs – You betcha! I get along well with dogs of all sizes! Here’s a video with me and my buddies at the shelter. Cats – Unknown. While I’m a friendly guy with humans and pups, we’ll need more information to see how I do with kitties. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – I do pretty well walking on a leash, but will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners so I can polish up my skills! A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
