PLEASE READ HERA’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT SHE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: HERA IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE OTTAWA, ON AREA We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption. NAME: Hera Age: 8 years old Breed: Mexi-Mix Sex: F Weight: 50 lbs Location: Ottawa, ON Adoption fee: COMPASSIONATE ADOPTION Spayed/Neutered: Yes Leash trained: great walker until she sees a squirrel. House trained: Yes Kids/Cats/Dogs: Yes, dogs, no cats, great with children of all ages Vetting: Up to date on all vaccination, sterilized, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for Heart worm. Positive for Ehrlichia and Anaplasma (tick borne diseases) she has been given all vetting including the proper protocol of 30 days of doxycycline. Currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention, dewormed and vet checked before arriving. Medical Issues: Tumours on her belly. They should not be touched. Comes with 4 weeks free pet insurance (after initial vet visit) We are looking for adopters who will understand her health concerns. Hera has some growths on her belly. After taking her to the vet, we were advised against biopsy and removal since they can spread. She is a happy healthy girl and we would like her to stay that way for as long as we can so decided not to touch them. Hera just needs a loving home for however long she blesses us with her presence on this earth. A lot sweet with a dash of salty. Hera is just that. Most of the time, this lovely lady is super sweet, gentle, soft, and snuggly. She happily follows you, looking for a pat or cuddle. She loves being around her human and dog friends, and she is good with children of all ages.. no care in the world... until… Hera loves a good chase, so we advise against cats, squirrels, birds, rabbits, ducks, or any creature that smells wild and acts the same. Now she corrects well, you give her a good firm no, and she will stop the chase, but the excitement for her just gets her going. Her ideal home would be one with a fenced in backyard where she loves a good sniff out before her morning pee, and if she had a dog friend, her zoomies and play romps are a fun thing to watch. She would be fine in an apartment or condo if she is walked regularly. She definitely needs a strong adopter who is willing to correct her when required. Hera wouldn't mind another dog friend, since she plays well with them. She shares and gets along well with every member of her new foster home, and all she has met so far when out and about. Hera is clean in the house and is good in her crate.. and we feel if there were no cats in the home she wouldn't even need a crate. Hera walks well on the leash, travels excellent, and would make a fantastic friend and low-key partner in crime. We are looking for adopters who will understand her health concerns. Hera really does have a beautiful personality and is an overall well-rounded gal who just needs some leadership and direction sometimes. If you feel you would be the right fit for Hera, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/ All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety. NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed. BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hera, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
