My story

Are you looking for a walking companion? I found your girl. Nala literally jumps for joy when she knows we are about to go for a walk. While she loves to meet all people big and small in the yard or in the house and has been great when we’ve had 5 dogs in our house!!, sometimes she gets “schnauzer- protective” on walks or with strangers passing by the yard. Once she knows the person, though, she will ask for pets and loving and gets excited to talk to them. Her bark is sweeter than many schnauzer barks. She can be goofy in the yard; rolling her back around on the grass. She loves to be close to her people, but is very polite. She won’t jump on a couch without being invited. She can use the stairs but prefers to stay on one level. At night, she likes to sleep in her cage and does fine without humans being on the same floor. Her crate with bed is a safe space for her. She also prances a happy dance when her food is being served. She is the fastest eater (2 or 4 legged animal) I’ve ever met so she will need the slow feeder. She will happily eat any food scraps you want to give her - raw carrots, broccoli, chicken, steak, etc. She does well with wet or dry food even while missing a few teeth. Nala is 11 years old and currently weights 28 lbs. Her previously owner relinquished her to a shelter because of excess urination. Our vet found she had a UTI, which has since been treated. Nala is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm tested negative, de-wormed, and microchipped.
