My story

Cookie is a 6-year-old, 15-pound female chihuahua mix from New York City. Cookie is a quiet, friendly, and very affectionate pup.  She is adjusting to life in South Philly. Cookie enjoys hanging out with her her small foster dog siblings, time in the backyard, and cuddling with her foster pawrent. She comes when called and is working on other training; she has good manners in general. She has started feeling more comfortable outside in the city,  and has started to go to the bathroom outside on walks. Otherwise she uses the washable wee wee pads with no accidents. Cookie is a bit unsure on walks (city life is scary) but walks politely. She feels more confident walking with her foster sisters. She also enjoys eating treats outside on walks. She is getting braver every day. Her forever family will need to continue working taking her outside during quieter times and give her treats on walks to help Cookie to feel more comfortable outside.  Cookie is quiet and calm when left home alone in the same room as her foster dog sisters. She barks and cries if left home alone without her foster dog sisters. She might have a home alone problem- or even separation anxiety - but it likely is only a problem in a home without other dogs.  She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with cuddled up near one of her foster dog siblings. Cookie is looking for a quiet- to medium activity level family. She appreciates downtime and semi-active moments. She likely needs at least one other dog in the home.  We would recommend Cookie go to a home with children 7 years old and up. __ Fostered by Susan, owner of DingoGirl Dog Training and Behavior Consulting. From Susan: I have adopted several Waggytail dogs since 2004 and currently have Valentina, the chiweenie, adopted in 2017. I occasionally foster Waggytails and provide discounted dog training services to Waggtail fosters and adopters! Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and microchipped. Spayed, heartworm negative, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To adopt Cookie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2375908##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cookie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
