My story

Meet Pez – A Big Softie with a Bigger Heart Pez may not have the best hairdo right now (blame a couple of “hot spots” and a shave), but don’t let his patchy back fool you — this handsome shepherd mix is all heart.When Pez first arrived at the shelter, he was shy and unsure. But with some time, patience, and a few squeaky toys, he’s started to show his true self: a goofy, affectionate cuddlebug who leans in for love — literally. Once he picks you as his person, you’ll have a shadow who just wants to be close.Don’t judge him by his kennel door acrobatics — Pez gets a little too excited to start his next adventure. But out of the kennel, he’s playful, silly, and all about wading pool parties, and treat-fueled training sessions.Yes, he’s a big boy with big feelings. He can be reactive to other dogs when out and about, but regular exercise helps him keep his cool. With structure, positive reinforcement, and someone who understands his energy, Pez will be the most loyal buddy you could ask for.Pez is ready for a fresh start with someone who sees past the kennel jitters and into his golden heart. He’ll thrive in a home where he can get plenty of play, patient guidance, and all the snuggles he can handle. If you’re looking for a loving companion with personality, charm, and a whole lot of shepherd spirit, Pez is your guy.Pez has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!
