My story

Please contact Lauren McCarty (laurenmc@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet baby girl in search of her forever home!AUSSIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!   Name: Aussie  Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 1o weeks as of 6/13/25    Estimated DOB:  4/4/25 SEX: Female      Approximate Weight: 11 oz Coloring: Gray Tabby  Type of Hair: Short Gets Along With: Because of her young age, Aussie will likely get along with other cats, dogs and kids with an acclimation period.  We’re happy to help with tips and tricks!   Special Consideration: This kitten has an initial positive FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test result. However, it's important to note that FIV antibodies can be passed from the mother to her kittens, which may cause a false positive on early tests. As a result, some kittens who initially test positive may later test negative once the mother's antibodies have cleared from their system, typically by six months of age. In the meantime, this kitten can safely live with other FIV positive cats, and the risk of transmission to non-FIV cats is extremely low—especially in calm, indoor environments where cats are not aggressive and do not engage in serious fighting or biting. With regular veterinary care and monitoring, this kitten has the potential to live a long, healthy, and happy life. Currently Living at: Foster in the DC area I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Aussie and I am a cute little kitten! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be my kitten self. Two kittens are better than one - consider adopting my super cute siblings, too! What my Foster Says About Me: Aussie is the perfect mix of affectionate and independent. She loves curling up in your lap, playing on her back until she gently drifts off to sleep. With her sweet nature and incredibly soft, silky coat, he’s impossible not to fall in love with. Aussie is looking for a loving home where she can share his playful spirit and gentle cuddles. Kitten Vetting Requirements: Your kitten may not be fully vaccinated upon adoption.  You will be responsible for providing whatever remaining vaccines are needed to complete the kitten vaccine series. Due to this kitten's young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than  10/4/25. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low-cost partner vets. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat.
