My story

PLEASE NOTE:  Frosty needs a dedicated, experienced person(s) to help him feel comfortable.  Please read his bio and apply only if you are truly willing to take the time this little man needs. Frosty is approximately a 3-year-old Yorkie on the larger side. He was at risk of being put down for aggression. Initially, he was aggressive. His first foster was bitten, but he was extremely fearful. His current foster took a different approach: she is giving him space and letting him come to her when he is ready for attention. Through structure and leadership he is beginning to feel safe and has made great progress. Frosty just needs time. He's a very smart little dog who only wants love, but doesn’t know who to trust. He’s looking for an adult-only home with patience, someone who won’t rush the process or fail him again. He’s already been let down too many times. Please understand: it will be a process with Frosty, but once he’s comfortable in his new environment and with his new family, he is truly an awesome dog. His new foster or adopter (foster to adopt) will need to continue the training and structure his current foster has put in place to help him feel secure and set him up for success. Of course, we never want anyone to get bitten, but these are still animals, and fear is often expressed this way, especially when they’ve never been taught another way. Don’t be afraid, be smart. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue.
