My story

Sometimes a dog strolls into your life who’s so adorable and so very handsome that you have no choice but to realize fate is making you an offer you can’t refuse. Voyager is a perfect example of this phenomenon. This boy may take some time to warm up, but once he does he is the perfect adventurer. He gets along great with dogs, has a face that melts all the hearts, and is quite ready for a home to call his own. Don’t deny fate! That’s not how fate works! Here's some notes from his foster: Here are some things we have learned about Voyager. When I brought him home, he was curious but reserved. He didn’t want to be handled much so we gave him his space and he appreciated that. However, he didn’t need much space. The next day it was like he had lived with us for months. His trust was built, and everyday his cute personality comes out. Most importantly he is the biggest sweetheart and just wants to be with his people, and he prefers you to be around most of the time. We have been working on that with kennel training, and it seems to be going well. He is a great eater and sleeps throughout the night in our bed. He is a good jumper so he can get up on our bed, however we have noticed that sometimes he struggles so I think he would benefit from some stairs or a ramp since he can handle stairs just fine. He also loves to play with balls and chew stuffed toys, as he is very active for a senior. He loves to go outside and on walks, so we take him on several a day as he expects this. He walks fast and long and doesn’t stop much. He is great with car rides and loves to go. Also, he loves a good bath. We do not have any other dogs in the home, but I think he would be ok with it. For him, it appears that new dogs or people would have to be introduced slowly as he is protective of his people and space. He doesn’t bark much unless he comes across someone new whether inside or outside. Voyager is an awesome dog! The coolest thing about him is that he is 150% potty trained. He hasn't gone inside our home once! He will also tell you when he needs to go out, and once done he is good for hours. If Voyager could pick his perfect home, it would be one where his people are home most of the time. A home with lots of good treats and toys, especially balls and lots of walkies. Oh, and most importantly lots of cuddles as he is the biggest lover.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Voyager 12961, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
