Pumpernickel

My story

Have you heard of “tortitude”?? A quick google will tell you the trait is defined as strong-willed, feisty and independent. We think that a pretty accurate description of this striking little tortoiseshell. However, some other descriptors would also be, sweet, sassy, affectionate, and down-right gorgeous (have you seen that eye shadow?). Pumpernickel took a little while to trust her foster mom, but all good things come to those who wait and now this little beauty is a purring, lovely sweetheart who loves to play and eat treats out of her foster moms hands. Our little loaves had quite the rocky start in life. Mama Brioche had 3 prior litters, none of which survived the rough conditions in which they were born. This fierce Mama kept moving them to protect them until a kind (and brave) rescuer was able to trap her and chase the babies through the brush to give them a better life and these little buns will thankfully be her last litter. They came to us quite feral but are quickly learning that shelter, food and the love of people are way better than the outdoor life. Must be adopted with a sibling. No exceptions.
