My story

Hi folks. My name is LULA (Lulu) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Jack Russell TerrierAge: 12 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 24 lbsHeight: tbdCountry of origin: CanadaHighlight(s): curious, calm I'm a local girl in need of a new home. Can you lend me a paw, er hand, to find another family? My owner, due to health condition and aging are no longer able to care for my basic needs.  As well, they have moved to a smaller home with no back yard access, which makes it doubly difficult. I came from a farm in Mission. The breeder has been contacted, but she herself has health issues, so unlikely I can return there. When left alone, I am fine and do not bark or whine.Thunderstorms are probably the one thing I need comforting with, otherwise, I'm good. I'm not much of a toy dog, but treats are great. No particular type, I think they are all good. I do well with 3 short walks around the block a day, using a halti. I get along with other dogs fine, though I will bark, but not aggressively. Cats, you ask, I feign disinterest. I won't chase, just bark. Not good with children, however, I will growl at them.Sitting on the couch looking out the window is a favorite pastime of mine. I will often sleep on the back of the couch.I enjoy car rides. But not the vet, I shake. Hey doctors are scary. I don't like being touched on certain areas of my body, though I am fine with petting and handling. Love my belly rubbed.  I think someone who enjoys leisurely walks would make a suitable home for me. I am curious, hence my enjoyment of looking out the window. Vids on the way Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: no Fears: Thunderstorms. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: mild ankle sprain 2 yrs ago. I am due for vaccines, but my owners will get those secured.I have been spayed/neutered, soon revaccinated and tattooed. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2412305##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LULA (Local) yo - Senior, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
