Bom is a lovely dog who is about 2 years and 4 months old, a male Spitz mix, weighing around 9.4 kg with a height of 38 cm at the shoulder. Bom was rescued in January 2024 after spending about a year in a small cage with his mother and sibling, having had very little human contact and needing time to adapt to new environments and sounds. His mother and sibling(Adam) were adopted last year, but Bom, being naturally shy and lacking socialization, was initially afraid of people and unsure how to build relationships. Now, after three months in a foster home, Bom is gradually becoming more comfortable. He is cautious around strangers but shows affection by gently approaching his trusted owner and even offering a paw for petting. He patiently waits at the door before walks and willingly lets his paws be cleaned after outdoor activities. Bom is somewhat wary of unfamiliar people—he may back away if approached suddenly or when someone tries to hold him. However, he accepts treats like meat or jerky from trusted people and doesn’t run away when petted. When his owner tries to pick him up, he may be scared and stiff, holding onto the owner’s arm with his paws, but he tolerates it. He reacts sensitively to sudden movements and tends to avoid approaching when his owner is walking around. Instead, he is more comfortable approaching cautiously when the owner sits quietly with treats. Building trust with Bom requires patience, taking things slowly, and respecting his pace. Over time, he may start to approach and show warmth in his own gentle way. Bom has grown to enjoy playing with small or similar-sized dogs and relies on other dogs for comfort. He gets along well with calm and friendly companions, but overly energetic or overly forward dogs might stress him out. Currently, he lives peacefully with both dogs and cats in his foster home and is focused on humans even when he sees cats during walks. He enjoys outdoor activities at a normal energy level but prefers to rest quietly afterward. He walks steadily on a leash without pulling, especially when walking on his owner’s right side, which makes him feel most secure. However, if the leash gets tangled around his legs or body, he may panic, so careful handling is necessary. Bom does not guard food or bark much, but he tends to drool and get motion sickness in cars. He usually only goes outside for bathroom breaks. He has some obsessive tendencies—he feels most secure when his paws are cleaned starting with the right paw, and he prefers to get into the car from the right side. During walks, he feels most comfortable when his owner is on his right side. While he doesn’t show excessive affection or excitement, he is gradually opening up in his own gentle way.
