My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Colt, and I'm an adorable GSD puppy with an estimated DOB of 11/1/24, and I was transferred from a shelter that was tight on space. Since arriving in CO, I have been living in a foster home with some other GSDs and some cats. My foster mom has the following to say about me: Colt is an intelligent, high energy, vocal guy! He is very playful with other dogs, but also knows how to self-entertain. He LOVES to chase a ball and brings it back beautifully. He came to us with a love for agility and he can "place" and "up" on some interesting surfaces and walk along them with ease. He's done some work on a long lead, but he prefers to stay close by at all times. Colt is an attentive walker, constantly looking up at his human for guidance and reassurance. When meeting new people or dogs, he is initially scared and vocal, but he does warm up quickly. We ae working on breaking his jumping-on-people habits. He's not a large dog, but he could easily knock a small child over with his excitement. Colt is still learning that cats are living creatures, and their slow movements freak him out a little. He's not what we would describe as cat-friendly, but he could get there with work. He is now house-trained after about three days of occasional accidents until he figured out how to alert us that he needs to go out. He sleeps through the night in his crate without any accidents and he can be crated for a few hours during the day.  If you are looking for a dog who loves agility courses, look no further! Colt is your guy! If you are interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. Adoption fee is $550Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   May 28, 2025, 2:24 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Colt, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
