Meet Iris Iris is about 2 years old, weighs 18 pounds and is a typical happy, playful puppy! She is very sweet, friendly and as you can see in the video, enjoys exploring and playing. She was rescued from the Hondo shelter near the border of Mexico. We are so happy they she is safe with us. We can see Iris doing well in a home where she can get lots of attention and playtime with her family. She is curious and also enjoys being held. She has a fun personality and in true terrier fashion, she is very smart. She enjoys playing with toys and other dogs at the shelter. She is just a fun-loving puppy who can’t wait to find a home of her own! She would be a wonderful, loyal companion to grow up in just about any family environment. Iris is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 28th. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. If you would like to add this cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Iris tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the only to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. If you are adopting ANY dog from a southern state, it needs to be tested for Chagas disease.
