My story

Meet Tailgate!Tailgate has been at THS for over three months now, and the shelter environment is starting to take a toll on him. When he first arrived, he was calm, gentle, and eager to soak up attention—always ready to climb into a lap or give kisses. Over time, though, the stress of kennel life has brought out more high-arousal behaviors, like jumping up, mouthing, and tugging at his leash.Even with the challenges of shelter life, Tailgate continues to show just how sweet and affectionate he truly is. He loves interacting with staff, enjoys playing with toys, and has done well when meeting children on field trips, especially in smaller, calmer groups. Tailgate is a loving boy who’s simply been waiting too long—his big heart is ready to shine once he’s finally in a place to relax and call home.Adopters will have the option of fostering him for one week through our foster to adopt program to determine if he is a good fit for your home prior to finalizing his adoption!Stop by to meet him today!
