If you're looking for a walking buddy, look no further - Comet is your partner! Yes, he has to sniff out everything along the way, but he has no problem going for a 2 hour walk. Comet is a small dog with a big heart full of love. He is a bit on the passive side and has mastered all of the basic commands and a few tricks. He is housebroken (but like any dog, will have an accident if left too long). Comet lives for 3 things: to be a lap dog, he LOVES to be petted & massaged. He loves his daily walks. And finally, he loves to hide & sleep under the covers, sometimes making a ball with the blankets. He currently sleeps with his foster mom, and at night after petting him 2 or 3 minutes he gets up, finds the end of the blanket, makes his way totally underneath and plops down for the night. So cute! Comet has been good with other dogs he has met, big & small. He usually sniffs them & walks away. In an enclosed yard he flies around, expecting the other dog to chase after him. He bonds very closely with his person or people. Once he is comfortable in his new home, you will have a new best buddy. He will greet you with enthusiasm when you come home, whether you're gone 3 minutes to get the mail or 3 hours doing errands. Comet is not used to being left alone for long hours. He would do best in a quiet house with a mature person or couple that either works from home or is retired. Although he's okay with kids, he's not a real playful dog. He is just looking to spend the rest of his life giving his love to a person that wants a cure for loneliness. He loves being loved & spoiled. In return, you will get a loving, loyal protector that will be your new best friend. Comet is a mixed breed that we believe is some kind of terrier mix. He's multi-colored with some pretty unique markings and weighs about 18 pounds. He's older than a puppy, but younger than a senior, probably landing somewhere in the 4-7 years old range. His adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, Rabies vaccination, 4DX heartworm/lyme test, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, routine dewormings, microchip and neuter.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Comet, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
