Meet Milk – A Gentle Soul with a Playful Heart • Name: Milk • Age: 6 months • Sex: Neutered Male • Breed: Terrier/Jindo Mix • Weight: 11 kg (24 lbs) • Height (Shoulder): 43 cm (17 in) • Neutered: Yes Personality & Temperament Milk is a sweet, sensitive pup who is still learning to navigate the big world. In unfamiliar environments or when meeting new people, he tends to be cautious and may bark awkwardly as a way to express his nervousness. However, his trust builds quickly—especially if you have treats! Once he feels safe, he allows gentle petting and becomes a very affectionate companion. He may need a bit more time to adjust if placed alone in a brand-new space, as he’s grown up in a group of puppies and feels most at ease with familiar company. That said, Milk is curious, responsive, and eager to connect once given a little time and patience. When in a good mood, he will even approach people first and seek out affection. With Children Milk does well with children under 13, especially when they approach him gently and calmly. He may initially be startled by sudden movements or loud noises but adjusts quickly with repeated, positive interactions. Once comfortable, he is a sweet and loyal friend to kids. He can be carried by placing an arm under his belly and is comfortable being held or cuddled. With Other Dogs Milk is very dog-social and enjoys greeting and playing with other dogs. He is generally more comfortable with dogs of a similar or smaller size. He handles rough play well and enjoys active interaction, but will steer clear of overly hyper or pushy dogs. He doesn’t exhibit dominant behavior and is good at reading other dogs’ signals. Energy & Activity Milk is a young pup, so he has a playful spirit—especially outdoors. He enjoys short bursts of play with his peers and then returns to rest quietly in his spot. Indoors, he’s relatively calm for a puppy his age. He has moderate energy levels and would benefit from daily walks and consistent playtime to keep him happy and healthy. Walking & Leash Skills Milk is still gaining confidence on walks, especially in unfamiliar areas or when walking with new people. He may stop or hesitate, but he doesn’t pull and can be guided with gentle encouragement. He’s not reactive to cats or cars on walks and is more focused on his handler than on distractions. With consistency and positive reinforcement, his walking confidence is expected to improve quickly. With Cats Milk has shown no strong reaction to cats he’s seen outdoors. While he doesn’t seem particularly interested in them, a formal cat test can be arranged for homes with resident cats. Crate & Car Milk is calm in the crate during transport but experiences mild motion sickness. He cannot jump into the car by himself yet and still needs to be lifted in. With time and positive associations, this may improve. At Home • House-trained to go potty outdoors • No food/resource guarding toward humans or dogs • No separation anxiety, though he may feel a little uneasy initially if adopted alone (due to growing up in a group) Rescue Story Milk was born in a rural greenhouse where a stray mama dog gave birth to puppies. Sadly, the mother was driven away shortly after giving birth, leaving the newborns alone. The puppies were taken in and lovingly raised by a surrogate mother dog who had just given birth to her own litter. One of his siblings, Lia, has already found her forever home in Calgary. Now it’s Milk’s turn to find a loving family of his own. Ideal Home Milk would thrive in a calm, patient home that can offer structure, gentle guidance, and regular walks. He’d do well in a home with other friendly dogs but could also adapt as a solo pup if given time to adjust. First-time adopters are welcome—as long as they’re willing to go slow and help him build confidence in a new world. Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ You can also check his post on Facebook(Link to Post) or Instagram(Link to Post) He can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers.
