My story

Clementine is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix whose journey could have ended in heartbreak—but instead, it’s blossoming into a story of transformation and hope. She was found tied to a pole by the Phoenix Police Department and brought to the Veterinary Emergency Group for urgent care. That’s where our Director first laid eyes on her—and instantly knew Clementine belonged with us. When she arrived at Sky Sanctuary, Clementine’s skin was in rough shape and her spirit understandably shaken. But thanks to the expert care of our partners at Dermatology for Animals, her health is steadily improving. Each day, she continues to heal—both physically and emotionally—and her light shines a little brighter. Now, Clementine has begun the next exciting chapter of her recovery: a 5-week board and train program with Sofus Dog Training. During her time there, she’ll be working on basic obedience, building confidence, and learning how to manage her separation anxiety with patience and structure. Our goal is to help Clementine become the very best version of herself—so that when the time comes, she’ll be more than ready for a forever family. Though she’s not quite adoptable yet, Clementine will be available very soon—and we’re now accepting adoption applications. She is resilient, intelligent, full of heart, and ready to write her next chapter with someone who sees her for the incredible dog she truly is.
