My story

A resilient girl who deserves the world! Hi there, friends! My name is Indi, and I’m a sweet 3-year-old, 50-pound German Shepherd mix looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and a cozy couch (or two!). I’ve been spayed, I’m in great health, and I’m ready to find my people. My journey started a little rough—I was left outside a Dick’s Sporting Goods in an El Cajon mall on a stormy night. Security footage showed me waiting in the rain for hours until the store opened. Thankfully, a kind supporter called TAP, and they came to my rescue! When I was first brought in, I was really scared, and I was especially nervous around leashes and being touched. But with lots of love, time, and patience in my foster home (where I’ve been since November 2024), I’ve made amazing progress! My foster family says I’ve come so far, and they’re really proud of me. I’m still learning how to be a beloved companion, but I’ve discovered I really enjoy being part of a pack—I get along wonderfully with other pups and love playing with my furry foster siblings! I’m also getting braver around people, especially when my foster mom is nearby. I even enjoy going out to breweries, patios, and on fun outings. I'm starting to love meeting new people, especially when they offer me pets and gentle attention. I’ve got a great mix of energy—I’m happy to chill on the couch, but I also love hikes, exploring, and any kind of outdoor adventure. I do great inside a crate, and I’m fully potty-trained and leash-trained, too.  I’m also not the anxious type and do well being left alone without causing any trouble around the house. Some of my favorite things? Marrow bones, daily hikes (mainly for the sniffs!), cozy naps, and butt scratches. Honestly, I don’t ask for much—I’m just happy to be included and loved. I think I’d thrive in all kinds of homes. Having a doggie sibling would be awesome, and I’d be okay with kiddos who are calm and respectful. More than anything, I’m just looking for a family that will love me unconditionally and never let me go again. My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##2239518##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Indi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
