My story

Meet Rufus, a 3-year-old gray and white Pit Bull Terrier with the heart of a teddy bear and the soul of a true gentleman. Often described as a gentle giant, Rufus may have a big, blocky head and a strong build, but he’s all about soft snuggles, slow tail wags, and leaning into your lap for love. He’s calm, affectionate, and has an easygoing nature that makes him a favorite among staff and volunteers.Rufus is looking for a home where he can be someone’s loyal sidekick — whether it’s lounging on the couch, strolling through the neighborhood, or simply soaking up sunshine in the backyard. He’s the kind of dog who makes you take a deep breath and smile, just by being near. If you`re searching for a big, lovable best friend with a heart of gold, Rufus is ready to fill that space with warmth, devotion, and a whole lot of charm.ADOPTION PACKAGEThank you for your interest in adopting your next pet from The Haven. Each dog adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, rabies vaccine and tag (age 3 months and up), microchip, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm preventative, a free starter bag of Hills Science Diet, and coupons from area businesses.Please make sure you review the following as part of the adoption process:· Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.· A current government-issued photo ID (no student IDs) - such as a driver`s license, state ID, passport, military ID, etc.· Have a Meet and Greet with the animal and our adoption coordinator (These can be a virtual Meet and Greet session due to COVID-19)· Adopters are responsible for bringing their own travel carrier with them when picking up their new pet.· The Haven accepts cash, check, debit/credit cards, or money orders.* For adopters of cats and dogs aged 6 months or less, or those with a medical condition preventing immediate spaying or neutering, The Haven requires a signed Spay/Neuter (S/N) Agreement and a $100 cash deposit, refundable upon completion of the spay/neuter procedure.
