This 8-pound velcro girl is a professional cuddler, a loyal shadow, and a true “heart dog” just waiting for the right person to see her sparkle. Sadly, dogs like Sequins often get passed over in shelters just because of their coat color. It's called Black Dog Syndrome, and it's as real as it is unfair. But the good news? You have the chance to be the one who sees the magic in her and gives her the forever home she deserves. Personality Sequins came to us from the shelter a little shy, but it didn’t take long for her loving, playful personality to burst through. She’s a classic velcro dog—follows her person from room to room, loves to snuggle, and prefers to nap in your lap or burrow under a blanket. She’s affectionate, sweet, and adores being carried around like the petite queen she is. She gets along great with other dogs (though she’s more people-focused), and she’s learning that balls are fun and bouncing is her superpower. She can be a little timid with loud noises or strangers at first, but she warms up quickly—and then she’s all in. Daily Routine Morning: Out for potty around 6:30 AM, followed by breakfast and a little nap while her human has coffee. Midday: A walk with her foster dog siblings, followed by lounging nearby or cozying up on a dog bed while you work. Evening: Dinner at 6 PM, couch snuggles, and playtime. She ends her day sleeping quietly in her crate—though she’d much rather be in bed with you. She’s potty trained, crate-trained (though not her favorite thing), and knows how to use a doggy door. She’ll even let you know if it’s closed by whining or pacing near the door. On Walks, Barking, & All the Little Things Walks: Loves them. She can be startled by loud traffic but does great overall and enjoys long walks and hikes—even if she needs a short carry break! Barking: Minimal—she’ll bark when your dog does or when she’s excited, but it’s short-lived and not excessive. Chewing/Digging: None. She’s more into cuddling and people-watching than mischief-making. Her Ideal Home Sequins would thrive with a single person, couple, or family who wants a close companion. She could be an only dog or join a home with another respectful pup. She’s sweet, affectionate, and gentle—a great fit for anyone looking for a quiet, loyal best friend who will always be by their side. Why You'll Love Her She’ll run up to you and leap into your arms like she’s auditioning for a movie montage. She’ll nap on your chest. She’ll ride in your arms like a little empress surveying her kingdom. She’ll look up at you with those soulful eyes and make you feel like the most important person in the world. She’s not flashy. She’s not loud. But she’s pure gold. Sequins has been overlooked once before—don’t let it happen again. Adopt this tiny shadow, and let her be the constant sparkle in your life.May 30, 2025, 4:56 am
