Meet Nala! She’s not a singing lion, but she IS an adorable puppy girl! She has a heart for kids and loves to play with her doggy friends! She is still a baby and has lots of life and love to give to her future family. We believe Nala is about 7 months old and a Pittie mix of some sort. She weighs approximately 25 pounds and is still growing! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Watch Nala in her sweetness here. https://youtu.be/GlKdZhKH6JE When I first met Nala, she had these sweet little soft puppy eyes that said “who are these new people all around me?!” We introduced her to our house cat Biggie first, and her interest immediately perked up! She cautiously sniffed the kitty cat and her tail began to wag slowly. You could tell that she was beginning to feel that the place she was at was a safe space. We consider Nala to be cat friendly! But if a cat were to start zooming around, she may see it as an invitation to play. A calm, low-energy, dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries (a well timed swat) would be the best fit. If in a home with a cat, we’d love to see her with a balanced dog companion to help anchor that energy. Nala really started to perk up when we brought in other puppy friends to play with! Sweet Pea and Andy are both young adult dogs who weigh about 25 pounds. She was in Heaven playing around the room with her new friends! And when the cheese and treats came out, it definitely ranked as Nala’s best day ever! She even shared the treats with her friends so nicely! She would do well in a home with a playful, balanced dog companion that can give her the grace to get comfortable in her new surroundings. It was made apparent very quickly that Nala is definitely a kid’s best friend! As soon as Blaze and Xen (9) joined in on the fun of playing with the pups, any hesitation she had about being in a new place melted away. Her tail began to wag so fast and all she wanted to do was be in their presence. She would do great in a home with dog savvy kids around 4 and up that just want a puppy to play with! If you have a younger kid and are curious to see how she would be around them, let us know and we would be happy to introduce her to younger children. We want to make sure she is the perfect fit for your family! Nala has the potential to adapt to apartment life with the right structure and exercise, but she is a growing puppy and has bursts of energy, so a house with a yard would be ideal. She’s affectionate, eager to bond, and has the makings of a great family dog! Honestly Nala is going to make a family super happy! She is still young, trainable, and eager to please her new people! She is a beautiful girl and will make all the heads turn as she goes by! Is Nala the girl you’ve been looking for? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
