My story

Looking for love? How about total adoration? If so, we have just what you need! This is Jedidiah, the sweetest old gentleman you ever will meet. When he walks with you, he doesn`t watch where he`s going; rather, he gazes up at you, hoping for a kind word and a soft touch. And while his body shows the hard times he`s experienced, he still believes humans will offer him love and kindness.Jedidiah is looking for a soft bed for his gentle heart and a family to call his very own. He recently got to experience that during a day out with a volunteer. He had a wonderful nap in a cozy bed and a chance to take a slow walk exploring a yard. He did all his business outside and he keeps his kennel clean at the shelter, which can be very hard to do, so it is very likely that he is house-trained.Lucky Jedidiah got another chance to break out of the shelter for the day with a different host and, once again, totally impressed everyone: `Jedediah and I had such a special few hours outside! He clearly loves people and while he’s a little nervous, he’s constantly looking for affection and confirmation of what a great guy he is. Despite not walking very stably, he LOVES to walk and does so with a purpose. Toys don’t seem to do it for him right now, but he’s very content to just lay there and let you pet him. I hope he’s adopted before I do another Dog’s Day Out, but if not, I will absolutely take him out again. He deserves the most loving of families that can finish out the rest of his years with gentleness and kindness.`And because the third time`s a charm, here`s the report from yet another of our `pupular` guy`s Dog Day Out: `Jedidiah is the sweetest old soul!! He was cruising in our walk at Nelson Atkins Park and was a fan favorite at Hi Hat when we stopped for a pup cup. He was super sweet and gentle with the kids we encountered! He loves car rides and was quick to fall asleep. Overall, the sweetest boy who would make someone the best companion! He’s moving well for 9 years old and I’d love to see him spend the rest of his years in a home. You seriously won’t find a sweeter boy who wants to be near people!`Like all of our dogs, Jedidiah would like to meet any potential canine sibling before heading home to make sure that it`s a good fit.
