My story

Russell is a 3-year-old, 58-pound mutt with a heart full of love and resilience. He was found as a stray in heartbreaking condition—suffering from mange, severe skin infections, nails so overgrown they had curled into his paw pads, and severely underweight.Since then, Russell has made tremendous strides in his foster home. He’s doing wonderfully with house training, crate training, and walking on a leash. His calm, gentle demeanor makes him a great candidate for a home with children aged 5 and up, and possibly with other playful, similarly sized dogs. (He hasn’t been tested with cats yet.)Russell does have a blocked tear duct, which requires ongoing eye medication. His coat is still recovering, and while much of his fur has grown back, some bare patches may remain permanently.Despite his rough start, Russell is ready for a new chapter with a family that will continue to show him the care and love he deserves. Could that be you?His foster says, `Russell is a wonderful dog who absolutely loves our 45 pit mix Dottie - they play together, and sleep together. Ideally he should go to a home with another dog his size or smaller who he can play with. He is great in the car. Although he might not have had a lot of life experiences, he has blossomed while with me, and with a little bit of patience will continue to blossom.
