My story

Mufasa von Minden is a beautiful 12 month-old long-haired German Shepherd. A handsome young dog with a fluffy red and black coat, he has the most adorable heart shaped beauty mark right on his head. He has a friendly, fun and playful personality but does need owners who keep up his training and remind him he isn't a puppy anymore! Don’t let him fool you, give him a command and he listens! He greets people and dogs with enthusiasm and is engaging and affectionate, soaking up attention and freely giving out kisses. Walk time is fun time and Mufasa is so happy to meet and walk alongside other dogs. He's very social in playgroups, greets other dogs with a wagging tail & invites play right away. He can be submissive and lie on the ground while other pups playfully jump on him. He is not cat-friendly but he would love another playful dog; he has done great with little dogs. He will thrive in an active, loving home that appreciates his joyful spirit. Rescued from the Kern County animal shelter. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
