My story

Hi, I’m Sugar — and yes, I’m just as sweet as my name!If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, people-loving pup with a little bit of sass and a whole lot of love, I might be your perfect match. My foster family calls me Miss Piggy because I make the cutest little snorting sounds when I’m excited — and let’s be honest, I’m excited a lot!I love everyone — kids, adults, men, women — if you’ve got hands for petting and a heart for dogs, we’re already best friends. I especially love getting scritches on my hips and will lean into you for more. I’m housetrained, great on a leash (though I do get a little enthusiastic!), and I know commands like “sit,” “crate,” “wait,” and “leave it.” I’m even working on “down” — I’ve almost nailed it, especially when treats are involved!I’m super playful and love other big dogs, but I do have a strong prey drive, so a home without cats or small animals is best for me. I’d love a fenced-in yard to run around and play fetch in — I’ve got plenty of energy to burn! While I don’t bark much, I do get a little vocal when you leave me in the crate, just to let you know I’ll miss you.When playtime’s over, I’m all about cuddles and calm. I’ll snuggle up close and soak in all the love you’ve got to give. I’m food motivated, eager to please, and full of personality — ready to be your sweet, snorting shadow.Come meet me and let’s start our happily-ever-after!Adoption fee: $50Sugar is part of our Home to Home Program.
