My story

****Please read all the way through before submitting adoption application**** Cheeto is a very, very special cat who needs a special home. He came from a hoarding household with his brother. While his brother grew normally, Cheeto struggled to gain weight and get over a little sickness. Even once he got healthy, Cheeto lagged behind in his size. He has been to the vet and is cleared for any major infectious disease issues - he is FIV/Felv negative and does not have FIP. But there is still no known explanation for his slow growth. In the last few weeks, Cheeto is now putting on weight and acting like a normal healthy kitten. So it is possible that he was just the runt of his litter and struggled with a virus a little harder than his sibling putting him behind on his growth chart. But it may also be possible, there is another unknown medical issue going on. For that reason, he needs an adopter who will stay in close contact with the rescue and follow instructions from our vet.  Cheeto does not know there is anything wrong with him. He says "tiny is mighty!" Because he came from a hoarding house, he is still a bit undersocilized and loves the big, grown adult cats. He will only be adopted to a house with at least one other grown cat. He also loves to eat. It is almost unbelievable how much this tiny, baby, runt kitten eats. He loves treats too. Food is the path to his heart. And also to his stomach.  Cheeto's next favorite activity is neighborhood watch. He loves watching the squirrels, birds, cars, and people of the neighborhood. He is very nosy and in everyone's business. And he absolutely snitches on everyone and anyone, giving lenghty meow reports about his observations.  His third favorite activity is cuddling. He sometimes forgets he loves cuddling. But once he cozies down in your lap, his purrs start like crazy and he directs you exactly what you need to be doing - scratch an ear here, rub my belly there, give me chin rubs now.  Cheeto's adoption fee includes a microchip, his neuter, and Cheeto appropriate vaccines. Due to his slow growth, the vet has recommended waiting a bit longer on his neuter surgery and on his vaccines. But the rescue will work with the right adopter for him to get all these services scheduled for him at the right time for Cheeto.  His adoption fee is $250. He has a dedicated foster who can continue to provide him the care that he needs but we are posting him for potential adoption now because he really has special needs to make sure he has the perfect match. His forever person might not want to miss out on all of his cuteness and these tiny times before he is a full grown, teenage kitten monster. In exchange for those memories, the rescue would continue work with you to make sure he is getting the care he needs for a long and happy life.  But this is not going to be a typical adoption. If you are that match under these special circumstances, please apply!  ##2416145##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cheeto, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
