Please contact Mary Naughton (mary.naughton@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Adorable mama dog looking for her forever home!GIRLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Girly Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and retriever Mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as May 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 43 lbs. Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested her with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Girly could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters. Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Girly is Looking For: Girly was a great mama to her puppies Gander, Gem, Goff, and Goose and they all were adopted quickly! She is now eager to get her own human family. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! And to make new pup pals along the way! But most of all - she wants to know where she belongs, upon whom to bestow all the love and loyalty in her heart. What do you say? Will you be the lucky recipient? What My Foster Says About Me: Girly was such a wonderful guest during her overnight stay here! She's five times the size of my 8-lb boy and more than twice the size of my 19-lb boy - and she played so wonderfully, so gently with them. She is terrific at matching play styles. I loved watching her interact with them - and I absolutely loved the snuggles she gave me whenever I sat on the floor. She came over, physically pressing against me, looked deeply into my eyes, silently and sweetly asking for pets. She didn't have any accidents in the house while she was here. When I took her out for walks, she became so happy when she saw other dogs out on walks with their humans. She is very dog and human friendly. She's got all that awesome young-dog energy and I think she'd love a home where she gets both - a chance to burn off her energy through fun activity with other pups and people - and lots of loving snugs when everyone is done playing. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
