HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Unknown but may be ok with a calm cat who gives him space DOGS: Unknown but may be ok with a calm dog who gives him space KIDS: No small kids KNOWN LIKES: Soft pets and calm human attention KNOWN DISLIKES: Getting to know him ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Pirate was abandoned and brought to a rural shelter. But he (and we) thought his luck 'o the seas was changin' when he got adopted. Sadly, his adopter did not get him proper vet care when his eye became infected and instead treated him with drops that hurt and inflamed his eye, causing him to screeeech in pain...and her answer was to return him to the shelter. The shelter reached out to us and we jumped to action to get him safely into our care. Pirate is now with us and we’re getting to know this sweet boy. Pirate will need to have his eye removed which will happen in mid-June. While we think he’ll be able to adjust to a respectful resident cat, best if no small children.
