My story

DOB 12-2024 This little girl had a rough start in life. She arrived malnourished, parasitic, severely scrawny with bones sticking out, suffering explosive diarrhea. But she is a trooper and responded well to an extensive course of medicine and care. She is quietly thoughtful and loves to be tucked in to her human for warmth and security. She is a shy and sweet little girl. Her aloofness lasts only for a short while; and, once secure, her sweet personality takes over, and she blossoms with cuddles and snuggles. She loves to be brushed and scratched. Wisp gets along with others well (although dogs are an unknown). She is docile and submissive . . . well, except when playing with others where she more than holds her own. However, she often simply prefers to hang out with her human. Wisp is bonded to Matisse, and together, they are a stunning duo. Full disclosure: Wisp has a minor heart murmur that requires no treatment at this time. She also has weakness in her hindquarters. She has been thoroughly vetted for the cause of the weakness; viruses, infection, deformity, and injury, have been ruled out. Her weakness may be neurological or genetic. It is not known whether or not her condition is static or will require future monitoring. PLEASE READ: Adoption fee $100 for adult ( over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). Adoption fee. All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first served. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home. Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet. Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats, while also making your life easier.
