Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700 Breed: Spaniel–Poodle mix Age: ~7 years Weight: ~16 lbs Coat: Low-shedding Rescued from the shelter Meet Hampton – A Low-Maintenance Gentleman with a Big Heart (and Great Hair) Hampton is a 16-pound Spaniel-Poodle mix with the elegance of an old soul and the enthusiasm of a young pup when it’s time for a walk. At around 7 years old, this copper-colored heartthrob is house-trained, crate-trained, respectful, and so easy to live with—it almost feels like cheating. A typical day with Hampton starts with tail wags and morning snuggles. After breakfast and a walk, he’s content to lounge solo by the window or sunbathe in the backyard while you work or run errands. He’s calm when left home alone (crate or free-roaming), quiet inside the house, and very respectful of your space and things. He’ll chew on soft toys but hasn’t shown interest in shoes, furniture, or anything off-limits. While Hampton loves being near his people, he’s also independent. He’ll happily cuddle on your lap, then wander off to nap in a sunny corner or curl up in his bed. He greets you like you’ve returned from war—even if you just stepped outside for the mail—and will melt into you for some welcome-home affection. Social life? Hampton’s working on it. He gets excited when he sees other dogs on walks, sometimes even popping up on his hind legs like a bouncy little kangaroo. But after a proper intro, he calms quickly and carries on. He doesn’t bark inside the home—even with guests—and took a party with 20+ people completely in stride. In the yard, he may vocalize at passersby or join in the neighborhood dog chorus, but overall, he’s not a big barker. Hampton is more of a “vibes” guy than a rough-and-tumble playmate. He’ll chase a toy and then squirrel it away to play with later in private. He’s not clingy or demanding, just steady companionship with bonus comedy: when he wants attention, he’ll give you a soulful stare or dig dramatically at his bed like he’s uncovering treasure. Hampton is looking for a home that: Appreciates a calm, low-drama companion Enjoys daily walks (his favorite part of the day!) Doesn’t mind that he’s not the “take-everywhere” type (though he might be with time) Might have a friendly dog buddy or just a chill, loving family Can give him the space to observe and adjust—he warms up quickly, but he’s thoughtful about it Hampton doesn’t need to be the center of attention—but he’ll quickly become the best part of your day. If you’re looking for a mellow, loyal, and delightfully expressive companion with very few needs and a whole lot of heart, Hampton might just be your match.June 2, 2025, 8:43 pm
