Meet Jjong — The Sweet, Gentle Jindo Mix Looking for Her Forever Home! • Name: Jjong • Age: 2 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Jindo Mix • Color: Brown • Weight: 10.5 kg (23 lbs) • Height (shoulder): 43 cm (17 in) • Spayed/Neutered: Yes • House-trained: Yes (100% outdoor potty trained) • Good with dogs: Yes • Good with cats: Not tested, but can be • Good with kids: Not tested with under 13s, but likely good due to her gentle nature • Energy Level: Moderate Personality: Jjong is a loving and affectionate girl with a heart full of trust. She’s the kind of dog who greets strangers like old friends, happily approaching for pets and attention. Whether it’s a man or woman, she’ll sit in front of them and ask politely to be petted — a true social butterfly with people! Despite her outgoing nature with humans, Jjong is a bit more selective with her canine friends. She gets along well with other dogs but prefers the company of a few close companions rather than being in the middle of a large, high-energy pack. She avoids conflict, even when challenged, and does best around dogs of similar size who respect her space. In the Home: Jjong is calm and quiet indoors. She rarely barks, doesn’t exhibit demand behaviors, and has no separation anxiety. She is calm in the kennel and completely housebroken — she only goes potty outdoors. While she’s happy to go on walks and enjoy some outside time, she also cherishes her personal space and loves to rest alone after activity. She may pull a little on leash, but she generally follows her handler well and wants to stay close. She’s comfortable being picked up with an arm under her belly, and once she bonds with you, she’ll even roll over and show you her belly! Food & Resources: Jjong is not food-aggressive toward people or other dogs. She shares space and resources well, making her a great fit for multi-dog homes. Rescue Story: In January 2023, Jjong was found in a cardboard box along with her siblings, abandoned at the site of a dog meat farm rescue in Daegu, South Korea. Despite her rough start, she holds no fear or resentment toward people — only love and hope. Ideal Home: Jjong would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can continue to blossom. She’s suitable for first-time adopters and would do well as a solo dog or with a gentle, respectful canine companion. A home with or without children could work, as long as they are kind and considerate of her space. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive soul to share your life with — someone who greets you with joyful wiggles and soft eyes — Jjong may just be your perfect match.
