My story

WEACT headed to the Hongseong County Shelter which was a kill shelter. In March 2024, the entire shelter had been emptied through rescue efforts—but less than three months later, it was filled to capacity again. As we held the dogs, each with a heartbreaking story, we found them painfully thin—just skin and bones. Despite enduring the harsh winter without even a single layer of plastic for shelter, these dogs wagged their tails endlessly at the sight of us. Among them were a mother dog and her three puppies, who had already passed away. By their side remained four tiny puppies, standing on the brink of life and death. We embraced eight precious lives that day, including baby Taupe, who was fighting for survival against parvovirus and coronavirus.
