My story

Meet Tobias, a goofy fun-loving boy who is waiting for you at the shelter! Tobias is a wiggly boy who loves to greet you with a wagging tail! When he first arrived he was a bit fearful and hesitant of this loud and overwhelming environment. After a few days, he really started opening up and making friends with everyone he meets! He loves handling and is sure to be your friend if you share some treats. Tobias has done well in our dog playgroup here and will be happy to meet your resident pup ahead of going home with you. Tobias is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly- you can meet him any day from 10am-6pm! Super playful boy even though he’s sick! He gathered every squeaky toy in the play yard, and collected them into a pile and he loves to romp around. Such a sweet and playful boy! When we walked past other dogs kennels he did growl or bark but was easy to pull away. Loved pets all over, somewhat mouthy when he got really excited but was gentle with it. He’s a super sweet and fun boy! Walk sheet notes 6/7-6/11: Tobias was taken for walks June 7, 8, 10, and 11. On 6/7, Tobias was given Eval and noted to have mild issues with jumpiness, medium energy, and "allowed all handling but uncomfortable at times, knows sit took treats nicely. Exit searched in the yard." On 6/8, Tobias was noted to have mild issues with jumpiness and medium energy. During a second walk on 6/8, Tobias was noted to have no issues, medium energy, and "good on walk, friendly." On 6/10, Tobias was noted to have mild issues with jumpiness and medium energy. On 6/11, Tobias participated in playgroup with no notes. Per staff 6/11: could not retrieve from kennel to complete PRC test Per Volunteer 6/10/25: He was very easy for leashing and only pulls minimally. Greeted us with a very loose body and wagging tail! Took pets and handling all over, was a bit jumpy but gentle with it. Loved handling! Enjoyed playing with toys and didn’t seem to guard them. He took treats from my hand very gently and was very treat motivated. Sometimes he got a bit fixated on getting them from my fanny pack but didn’t react when I took them away from him. Super well behaved boy and sweet with handlers! Met multiple new handlers with no issues. Saw a fake full sized dog in the office and play bowed with him lol it was very goofy. Bumped down to blue from double blue Per volunteer 06/07/2025: Known history: stray in Kennel presentation: Tobias was on the other side of his kennel. When I approached once he saw me he came over with a loose body, but his tail was lowered. I showed him my leash and he gave small tail wags and had soft eyes. I opened the kennel door, and he patiently waited for me to lasso him. Once leashed, he hopped right out of his kennel. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: Tobias was a little nervous walking through kennels and if he heard a loud noise, he would freeze and go lower to the ground. I took him into the adoption room as it’s quieter. He began to warm up in the room. He took treats nicely from my hand and shut off his tricks as he knows sit. I then took him outside, he allowed all handling but did get uncomfortable at times. If I pet him for too long he started giving a lot of appeasement signals to self regulate himself due to his uncomfortably. He was not interested in toys or treats. Returning him to kennel I had no issues as he hopped right back in his kennel. Toys: no interest Play no interest Color: experienced blue Play group 6/5/25: Tobias was steerable with very good greeting at the gate. he had a high tail and a loose body language. he engaged in play with the more calm dogs and preferred to be around dogs more like his dainty play style. he was very timid throughout the yard but remained curious Per Staff 6/3/25: dog appears loose bodied, social to most people and kids.
