My story

Hi, my name is Kitty and I am an alum of HAWS.  In February 2024, I caught the attention of my person by waving my paw out my front door.  Then I won her over with my personality and spunk when we got together in the cat adoption meeting room.  Unfortunately, she passed away and now I'm back at HAWS to find my forever home.  I was loved a lot and I gave a lot of love and entertainment in return!  One of my favorite things to do is playing fetch ... yes, the extended family often said I was sort of like a dog, not only because I fetch but also because I would run to the door to greet anybody coming in the house.  Some people even got my "happy dance" ... that's me winding around their legs to say HI!  If you like an active cat, I'm the one for you.  Besides playing fetch, I also like wand toys, chasing the laser "red dot"  and my fishing pole with a fuzzy ball (no lure) at the end.  I won't let you get away with casting just once because we can both be entertained for as long as you want!  I also like my turbo scratcher for scooting the ball around it and playing "keep away" with my person.  I have had exposure to a young grandchild as well as a grand-dog occasionally.  If you have children or a mellow dog in your home, I might be a good fit if properly introduced.  In my prior home, I was the only cat and I got a lot of attention that way, but I'd be willing to share the perfect home with the right person or family.  I'm not always playing, I do like to snuggle too!  I'm not a lap cat but I am a like-to-be-next-to-you cat!  I will curl up near you for tummy and back rubs.  I don't mind being picked up but I am not a carry-me-around cat now.  Perhaps in the future that might change once I'm comfortable with you?!  I'm looking for another loving home who will be a little patient with me to let me adjust to my new surroundings.  If you think it's your home, please come meet me today.
