My story

If you’re looking for a relaxed and friendly buddy to enjoy life’s little adventures with, Lucas could be your guy! This sweet, easygoing pup is housetrained, knows sit, and walks nicely on leash, with just a bit of pulling here and there when he’s feeling curious. Once outside, he loves to soak up the sunshine and get some good allover pets. In the play yard, he’s affectionate and happy to hang out, occasionally showing off his playful side with a little stomp or a tail wag. Lucas has met other dogs with loose, friendly body language. He was excited to meet one pup through the fence, but during a walk-along, he was perfectly calm and neutral, happy to do his own thing. He’d thrive in a home that can offer him regular exercise, some outdoor fun, and plenty of love from a kind human. Come meet Lucas at ACCT Philly any day between 10 am & 6 pm VIDEOS: Videos of Lucas at the Head for the Cure 5K run- Lucas at the 'Head for the Cure' run! https://youtu.be/XCucYEmF6TA Lucas getting pets https://youtu.be/zokwJG6M5P0 Lucas out at an event! https://youtube.com/shorts/BI6AT2KePao Lucas enjoying a car ride https://youtu.be/K_50LUdHoWA Lucas on a run https://youtube.com/shorts/K2seKuD7d-4 https://youtu.be/SjJcZ0JJi54 Lucas and Jada fence meet: https://youtu.be/N0H1FnMHqMU Lucas and Jada walk along: https://youtu.be/hYpiira20TE Lucas and Jada: https://youtube.com/shorts/VZEkqoxH0w8?feature=share Lucas enjoying the sunshine: https://youtube.com/shorts/2Cvxq3Fnu-I?feature=share Lucas getting pets: https://youtube.com/shorts/4S32JYrf4NU?feature=share Jada & Lucas walk along https://youtube.com/shorts/Ymr20qB8y_w?feature=shared BEHAVIOR: Per volunteer 6/9: Lucas has historically great behavior and I was excited to meet him! He has the most beautiful coloring for a pittie that I've seen in a long time and is such a handsome boy! He does a cute little hop and showed a slight interest in toys. Otherwise he mostly walked around the play yard marking. I do want to note that after I pet him for a bit he started getting overly excited and was getting very jumpy, mouthy and humping. per volunteer behavioral eval 6/9: Middle tail, loose body and soft eyes in kennel. Stood still for leashing and walked on a loose leash outside. Loose and wiggly body when being pet, did not solicit more touching from me. Easy to return to kennel and stood still when removing the leash. Green per day trip 6/6: He did great on our outing to Tacony Creek today. He pulled a little on the leash, but mostly hung back at my pace. I made sure to cross the street when passing other dogs, though he did seem interested/playful towards them when he saw them from afar. He responds really well to praise and got super excited whenever I pitched my voice up a little higher – he's a real sweetie! He seemed curious about the creek and kept looking at the fish. He also loved rolling around in the grass and getting some good head scratches. Also, I wanted to note that Lucas peed but did not poop during our outing. 06/05/2025 volunteer notes: Lucas is a friendly and easy going pup! Easily leashed and walked with ease through kennels. Lucas seems to be housetrained. He also knows 'sit'. Lucas solicited handling in the play yard and allover pets. He took interest in another dog through the fence, doing play stomps and vocalizing excitement. Once out of the play yard, Lucas was less interested in engaging. We did a walk along and Lucas was neutral and relaxed throughout. He was relatively easy on leash, with some pulling at times. Lucas would thrive in a home with regular exercise and outside adventure - he especially would enjoy the companionship of a kind human :) 06/05/2025 volunteer notes: met Lucas in the yard while he was w another volunteer. He was excited to see Jada (the dog I was handling) through the fence. Both pups seemed playful and loose so we took them for a walk-along together and while they did sniff each others but, they mostly ignored each other while walking together. Lucas was sweet and appeared unbothered and easy going. 06/04/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Steerable, mini corrections, curious, tries to engage in play, jumpy, push pull ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
