Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Margarita (affectionately called Rita)! This sweet girl is about one year old and weighs in at 10 pounds. She is believed to be a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix and full of personality! It takes her a moment or two to warm up to new people, but once she does she has so much affection to give. She loves to chase balls in the backyard. She does well playing with dogs of all sizes, but she definitely wants to be the queen! She met a cat, but barked at it so we're unsure of how she would do with cats. Rita could be in a home as the only dog and be perfectly happy to get all of the love. Rita seems to be more comfortable around women and a little more selective and cautious around men. She is a little on the skittish side, so we'd prefer a home without small children. We think Rita would thrive in a home with someone who can be home most of the day with her. Are you searching for your next best friend? Rita hopes you might choose her! We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
