Meet Piggy! Piggy was transferred to us from the island of Kauai and would love nothing more than to bring Aloha vibes to his forever family. Piggy is a happy, and energetic boy who wants to be friends with all people, dogs, and even cats. He would do well in a home with another dog who likes to play, or with a family who are open to daily exercise such as walks, runs, hikes, or maybe fetch. He hasn’t quite mastered bringing the ball back - just yet. At 40 pounds, Mr. P lands right in the medium dog category, but you can’t convince him of that. He absolutely loves to climb in the laps of his loved ones and is constantly seeking positive affirmation in the form of pets, kind words, or snuggles. If you’ve been looking for a dog you can wrap your arms around and hug, this is your guy. When invited, he adores sleeping next to his person or between his people. Just be aware, he is not above tossing himself across your body for a closer cuddle. Piggy just can’t get enough love. True to his name, Piggy is still quite food motivated. We imagine he endured food insecurity in his earlier life and is finally approaching a healthy weight. That being said, he will steal food if it is left out. His fosters have helped him learn which dish belongs to him at feeding time and to sit and wait for his meal, but he just can ‘t help himself from an unattended snack. This piglet is wired to be a loyal, obedient boy. He wants to be a people pleaser, but will need a little help continuing the great coaching he has already received. Piggy is good with older kids, cats, other dogs, and adults. He may need additional training for small children, considering he does not seem to know his own size. He has made leaps and bounds of progress learning to keep quiet on walks, but his adopters will need to continue coaching him to reduce and ultimately stop barking when passing other people and dogs. Piggy is vaccinated, chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application.
