My story

BLAKE SHELTER NEEDS A HOME!! Blake Shelter (aka Blake Shelton) was found wandering the streets of Compton, scared and alone. For days, neighbors tried to catch him, but he kept his distance. One kind-hearted woman refused to give up. With time and patience, she earned his trust, got him groomed, and gave him the safety and care he had been missing. He had no microchip, and after a 10 day stray hold, he was taken in to Shelter Hope. Now this tender-hearted 1 year old & 15lb Shih Tzu mix is ready for a fresh start. Blake has soulful eyes, a charming underbite, and a beautiful spirit. Once he feels safe, he becomes a total cuddlebug who loves to snuggle in your lap, soak up affection, and follow you from room to room. He enjoys going for walks and just wants to be close to someone kind. Blake is a jumper, so he'll need a home with a tall, secure fence. He thrives in a calm, patient environment with someone who understands that trust takes time. When meeting new people, Blake can be nervous and may try to protect himself if he feels overwhelmed. But give him a minute and a little space, and he'll soon be climbing into your lap looking for love. He's come a long way and continues to grow every day. Once Blake feels safe, his love is lasting, devoted, and unlike anything else. ---------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Be Ready: If your application is selected, our rescue counselor will be in touch for a phone interview. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please Keep in Mind: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt.
