TAQUITO

My story

Taquito, which means “small taco,” is an 8-year-old male chihuahua, weighing 5lbs. After being surrendered by a nice man who had more dogs than his city would allow, he’s currently being fostered in Toronto—but he’s ready to wrap himself into the right forever home. This little guy is the whole enchilada: sweet, quiet, and just the right amount of spice. Taquito is a total soft shell—shy at first, but gently curious and braver than he lets on. He’s still learning what it means to be a dog, but he’s making nacho average progress. He sleeps most of the day like a seasoned pro and is so quiet. He hasn’t had a single accident in the house, though he does need to be carried outside. Leashes? Let’s just say he’s not yet taco-bout that life. He absolutely lives for food and would happily accept treats as currency. While he’s not a snuggler yet, a little guac-pressure might change that over time. He’s happy to be around people—just at a distance for now—and would thrive as a side dish to a more confident resident dog who can show him the ropes. Taquito is as cool as sour cream when it comes to other animals. He’s been unbothered by barking dogs and has shown nothing but friendliness toward cats and pups alike. Whether you’re in an apartment or a house with a backyard, this tiny taco would be thrilled to curl up somewhere quiet and cozy. If you’re looking for a mellow, low-maintenance companion with a heart full of hidden flavor, Taquito might just be the perfect addition to your pack. He’s a little crunchy on the outside, but we promise—he’s all heart inside.
