My story

Meet Imara!This 8-month-old, 14-pound terrier/dachshund mix is the total package—sweet, smart, and so easy to love. Imara is laid back, social, and has excellent house manners. She’s house trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come. She listens well, is eager to learn, and loves both cuddle time and independent play.Imara gets along great with other dogs, is gentle with kids, and adapts quickly to new routines. She sleeps soundly through the night in her crate and does just fine being crated during the day too—no accidents or chewing (except on her toys!).Recently treated for mange, her coat is growing back beautifully, and her joyful spirit is shining through more each day. Whether she’s riding in the car, playing with friends, or just soaking up affection, Imara is a true gem who’s ready to bring sunshine into her forever home.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
