Hi everyone! My name is Nairobi but my foster parents call me Blue. I am a 1 year old shih tzu and this is my story! Personality & Characteristics: I am a very mellow pup who loves to do anything alongside my foster mom and dad! I like to hang beside them while they eat, cook or clean. Cleaning time is my least favorite one but I still enjoy being part of the team! I don't beg for food or bark when you're eating, but if you share your food with me, I wouldn't mind:). I do get a little nervous when my foster parents leave me alone, but I hope you can understand. I got surrendered due to over breeding. I was always together with my parents and siblings from a younge age. I didn't know the last day I saw my family was the last day I would ever see them again. So when I couldn't find them I panicked and started barking in the hopes my family came back. Through this truamatic experience I have used barking as a coping mechanism, so when my foster parents leave I bark for some minutes in hopes they come back. Please be patient with me as I am learning every day through training with my foster parents that they won't just leave me too, like my breeders did. With time and work I know I can overcome this and fully learn to trust again. My foster dog is good with: I am great with slowly meeting new furry friends but sometimes the energy of every other pup can rub off on me and I can get a little pumped up! I however am great with a few frenchies I like to call friends. Two males and one female, I am able to play well with them and I can understand corrections from them to ensure we are playing safely! I've met a cat for a little bit one time but he kept staring at me so I assumed my eyes had surprised him. We maintained our distance but we didn't play much. Kids are not really present in my daily routine but I think I'll like their playful nature. My foster dog is: House trained, low shed, potty trained3 Keywords for your pup: Mellow, clingy with your presence (learining to be more independent), great car seater.Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): Level 3 - I like to play with my chewtoys but prefer to lay around and relax alongside my foster parents.Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: I sleep through the night with no problem. I prefer to stay in the same room as my foster parents, but if they leave me for a while I bark for some time - I am currently learning to overcome this. Overall I don't bark at all and I'm very calm in the house.Walking Manners: Great walker, interesting smells do make me get a little fast during my walks but I listen to redirections, and follow my foster parents where they lead me to.Appetite: Great appetite, I eat twice a day but I love snacks!Favorite Things: There's a couple things I enjoy and love. I love napping under my foster parents bed, and on their bed too lol. I love sticking out my head during a car ride. I also love to eat turkey.Commands/Tricks: I am learning the commands of stay and sit as you read this. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2420617##
