Hi, I'm Jamie! I'm still learning about the world, so everything is an adventure for me. Though I take some time to warm up, I'm friendly and very curious, always sniffing out new scents and exploring every nook and cranny. Playtime is my favourite, I can chase a ball for hours! But when it's time to rest, I'm all about the cuddles. I'm fluffy and soft, perfect for snuggling. I can't wait to find a family that I can shower with love and who will love me back. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of fun into your life. Adopt me and let's start our adventure together! From his Canadian foster He walks very well on the leash with me and the presence of another dog. In fact, he thrives with other dogs' companionship. He leans on the confidence of his humans and other dogs. His happy place is in the backyard, so a backyard is essential for this pup. Endless zoomies! Very toy driven! He is constantly walking around with a toy in his mouth, wanting to play with his trusted humans or dog friends. He has learned his name, 'sit', 'stay', and 'come'. Very smart and easily trainable. Sleeps like a baby in his crate at night. He whines a tiny bit when we leave the house but quickly settles. Super adorable, affectionate, and social once he trusts you. So the biggest caveat for him is trust as he is slow to trust for most, particularly men. But the intro to our dogs was a piece of cake!Name: JamieBreed: Corgi mix (looks like he could have Shepherd)Age: ~11 months Weight: ~25lbSex: Male, neuteredColour: Tan and whiteMedical: No concerns Good with men: Yes, cautious at firstGood with women: Yes Good with kids 0-6: Unknown, not testedGood with kids 7-15: Unknown, not tested but suspect yes When the dog meets new people, he: Approaches cautiously, Approaches in a neutral manner, Shy, Does not want to interact at first, but warms upGood with dogs: Yes, happy to co-exist and send to thrive with other dogsHow does this dog react to meeting new dogs? Neutral - will say hello nicely, Whines, Stiff body, Depends on how the other dog is actingWhat type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? Jamie appears to be social with other dogs, just lacks confidence and can be a bit nervous at the first introduction. I can see him doing well with another medium-high energy dog, once settled into a home/new family. Good with Cats: Yes, fostered with cats Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Walks well, initially hesitant as he learns his new surroundings and new handler he quickly gains his swagger. Walks very well in the company of another dog (helps his confidence). Energy level: HighAreas to work on; Needs confidence building, His main area to work on seems to be socialization. He is anxious/nervous around new people (more so people with a masculine appearance). What type of environments would NOT be suitable for the dog? City, Condo/Apartment Any noted separation anxiety?None seenBarker: Average What would be the ideal home for this dog?Jamie would thrive in a home with space to run around and people to play with. His Backyard is his 'happy place' and he gets the zoomies and runs free. He would do well with other dog in the home as they seem to help show him the way and build his confidence. Just need to have a slow introduction to ensure he feels safe. I can see him running around with older kids in a yard and playing fetch, but we haven't seen him around children just yet. As long as he has space to run and people to love on him, he'll be so happy!
