My story

Meet Bea – Your Sweet and Shy Little Sidekick Quick Facts: Breed: Yorkipoo (Yorkshire Terrier / Poodle mix) Age: 2 years Weight: 10 lbs House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes – but can be left out without issue Good with Dogs: Yes – prefers slow introductions with dogs her size Good with Kids: Yes Good with Cats: No – scared of them Energy Level: Low to Moderate – mellow with occasional playfulness Special Traits: Velcro pup in the making, gentle and affectionate once bonded, can be vocal when left alone About Bea’s Breed Mix: As a Yorkipoo, Bea blends the spunky charm of the Yorkshire Terrier with the intelligence and sweetness of the Poodle. These small-but-mighty pups tend to be loving, people-oriented, and smart. Bea’s a classic example—sensitive and loyal, with a gentle personality and a desire to be close to her humans. Bea’s Story & Personality: Bea is a shy but incredibly sweet little girl who blossoms with patience and love. She may need a little time to warm up in a new environment, but once she feels safe, she’ll be your quiet shadow, always staying close and ready for a gentle pat or cuddle. She enjoys being pet and thrives on one-on-one attention. While she's not the life of the party, she has a soft, playful side that peeks through as her comfort grows. She’s semi-playful right now, but it’s clear that being close to her people is what matters most. Bea is housebroken and crate-trained but doesn’t require crating when left alone. She does have some mild separation anxiety—she may howl or cry at first, but she will eventually settle down. This little girl would love a home where someone is around more often than not, or where she has a predictable routine. She does well with other small dogs, but she needs slow, gentle introductions. At first, she may growl or be unsure—especially if the other dog approaches her too quickly. It’s best to let Bea make the first move. Once she feels secure, she can learn to enjoy canine company, just as she did with her foster siblings. Leash walks are new territory for Bea. She walks slowly at first and needs time to build confidence in new surroundings. No fenced yard is needed, but she would benefit from calm outings where she can feel safe and take things at her own pace. Why You’ll Love Bea: Gentle and affectionate once bonded Low-key and calm, with sweet flashes of play Good with kids and respectful small dogs Fully house-trained and crate-trained Loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side Great apartment or condo candidate (with patience for her vocal moments) Bea’s Ideal Home: A calm, quiet environment with a predictable routine Patient adopter who will give her time to adjust and feel safe No cats, but small dog companions are okay with proper introductions Someone who is home often or can ease her separation anxiety An adopter who will let Bea come out of her shell on her own timeline Bea may be a little timid at first, but her heart is huge and ready to love. She’s not looking for a loud, busy lifestyle—she just wants someone who understands her quiet soul and will offer her the stability and companionship she craves. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
